Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a housewife. She grew up within a household that included four brothers. The idea of being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials after moving from New York. She was cast as an innocent child in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney is an acclaimed actress who has been featured in a variety of television shows, and dramas. While she has a career success, her personal life is not happy and prosperous. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcohol addiction. In 2005, she lost custody of the sole child she had.
